Parts Manager


The Parts Manager is responsible for managing the Parts Inventory and Parts Employees to increase department profitability.



Manage Inventory

·         Maintains a balanced inventory consistent with the requirements of the service department, wholesale accounts and the do-it-yourself public.

·         Ensures that all parts are properly inventoried and tagged

·         Analyzes departmental operations and storage layout and revises as needed for maximum effectiveness.


Manage Employees

·         Hires, trains, motivates, counsels and monitors the performance of all parts department staff.

·         Ensures that a high-quality of service is provided to outside customers and internal dealership customers.

·         Develops, enforces and monitors guidelines for working with customers to ensure maximum customer satisfaction.


Increase Profitability

·         Forecasts goals and objectives for the department and strives to meet them.

·         Analyzes sales, expenses and inventory monthly to maintain profit goals.





·         Three years of automotive experience preferred

·         Three or more years of management experience preferred


Education / Certifications

·         High School Diploma or GED is required




·         Outstanding customer service skills

·         Excellent communication skills

o   Ability to work well with personnel and vendors

o   Ability to resolve problems

·         Flexible to change in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

·         Proficient in knowledge of basic computer use

·         Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor


Certifications / Licensures

·         Valid Kansas Driver's License

o   Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record as outlined by company policy


Work Environment & Physical Requirements

·         Occasional bending, squatting, and reaching

·         Very frequent use of hand dexterity (operating keyboard and mouse)

·         Frequent loud noise, fumes, and odors

·         Infrequent outdoor work environment (including wet conditions and variations in temperature)
